Course Description

The Pre-AP Algebra 1 course is designed to deepen students’ understanding of linear relationships by emphasizing patterns of change, multiple representations of functions and equations, modeling real world scenarios with functions, and methods for finding and representing solutions of equations and inequalities. Taken together, these ideas provide a powerful set of conceptual tools that students can use to make sense of their world through mathematics. Students will be able to use the TI-Nspire graphing calculator throughout the year and for their STAAR EOC Math test.

• (1) Composition Notebook
• (1) folder with prongs
• 1 pack of pencils, highlighter Optional: Stylist pen and computer mouse
• Backpack
• (1) Pack of 10 Clear protector sheets

Follow all rules and procedures. Use appropriate language. Attendance is very important. Consequences are still taking place online or in class (write-up, call home, detention, parent-teacher conference, referral).

 Please consider the following:

• Cheating will not be accepted! if this incident occurs, parents will be notified and an automatic zero will be given. 

• Late Work/Makeup Work/Absent. The student is responsible to ask for their work whether it is an unexcused/excused absence. Parents will be notified of any late/missing assignments.  Corrections/make-up work is allowed for any low assignment or test. If you are having trouble submitting online assignments, take a screenshot and email it to the teacher.

• Help Outside of Class If you are struggling with any of the concepts covered in class, ask for extra help after school or email the teacher!

• Virtual/Online: Continue to follow PBIS. Expectations, Rules, and Procedures on Google Slides.

• Restroom: No restroom breaks during lectures unless an emergency.
